Day 10: Risks to Spiritual Momentum: Comfort

Read It: John 15:2
Live it:
We live such comfortable lives. Now; you might not feel like it is always comfortable because of a given circumstance; but in the scope of human history; we are more comfortable than ever before.

We have access to the best health care in human history.
We have access to an abundance of food.
We have access to an abundance of knowledge.
We have access to an abundance of entertainment.

We are living in the most comfortable time in human history. This might seem good, and it can be. But there is a warning: comfort is the enemy of growth. When you are comfortable, you become stagnant; you can literally sit in your comfortable stagnation.

Be encouraged today to embrace being uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable indicates you are growing. Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

Feel free to adopt one of my mottos, a Latin phrase that exemplifies James 1:2-4: “Incrementum in Incommodo,” which translates to “Growth in Discomfort.”
