Day 8: Wealth, alone, is meaningless

Read It: Ecclesiastes 4:1-16; Luke 12:13-21; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:18-21

Live It:

Jesus came to save the sin-sick and the lost. Mental illness, addiction, abuse, neglect—these are ugly realities of life in a fallen world. We can follow in his footsteps by walking with people through their own personal ‘valley of the shadow of death’. It was painful at times for Jesus and it can be painful for us as well.

Am I willing to do difficult things for the people which God places in my path? How can I demonstrate the love of Christ to those the world has given up on? Quite simply, we need each other. We’re better off having people to journey with. Do I know someone in need? How can I support them this week?

Kind of a weird way to talk about our topic today (wealth), but I assure you, when you start being willing to step into someone’s ugly reality and help them, you will start truly experiencing true wealth. If you do this, you can go to sleep each night, look back on the day and picture those that you helped and those you sacrificed for. I guarantee you, doing this will lead to true rest. Rest that you cannot get through the collection of material possessions.
