Read it- 1 Samuel 17 , Psalm 89
Live it- While we read today’s scriptures, we can easily see that God’s favor was upon David. There are numerous psalms that are attributed to David’s singing and writing about God’s goodness and grace. They are beautiful songs that narrate situations in which David encountered God’s provision.
In 1 Samuel 17, it is easy to identify the main headline: David defeats Goliath. While that is a great victory to celebrate and a great display of God’s greatness, let’s not forget what enabled David to walk a victorious life. Verse 37 says; “The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion, and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine.”
David walked a victorious life because of his trust in God. Sometimes we face situations to prepare us for a bigger victory.
What is coming against you today? Allow God to remind you of the times He has given you a victory. Trust God and walk in victory today!
