Read it- Joshua 2:1-15, Joshua 6:17-25, Hebrews 11:31 , Matthew 1:5, & James 2:25
Live it- Rahab, who is included in the lineage of Christ, is described in the Bible as “the prostitute Rahab.” Now, that doesn’t sound like a description anyone would desire to be used to describe her, let alone used to describe someone who is in the genealogical records of Jesus, but God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. This is what God does best.
What’s interesting here is that in Hebrew 11:31 she is listed as a prostitute but in Matthew 1:5 she is not listed as a prostitute. I believe there was some intentionality in the fact that she was included in Jesus’s Genealogy. God could have easily left her out or white washed it. But he did something even better! Through our faith Christ washed our sins and labels away with his blood; she was listed as the prostitute in Hebrews, and in Matthew, she is not. Jesus changes the game, and he changes us. We just need to be willing to be used by Him.
