Read it: Exodus 3:1-12
Live it:
Exodus 3 records the first powerful encounter between Moses and God; this is the burning bush conversation.
At first, Moses was convinced that God could no longer use him. In the following verse from Exodus 3:11, he asked the Lord, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” These questions showed both his strength and weakness. God called Moses to lead the oppressed Israelites to freedom from their bondage in Egypt, and Moses doubted whether this would work. After all, he was just Moses. And Pharaoh was the most powerful man in the world.
Before this unexpected interaction, Moses allowed his past failures and present circumstances to cancel out his hopes for the future. Perhaps you find that this is your condition right now. Maybe this can be your burning bush moment, a moment while reading a binge the Bible daily reading to make two life-changing choices. First, realize that we are powerless over our tendency to do the wrong thing. Second, choose to not remain there.
