Read: Matthew 5-7
This portion of the New Testament is often called “The Sermon on the Mount”. In this message, Jesus is teaching a large group of potential followers what it truly means to follow Him and to be a part of God’s kingdom. Repeated in this text is “You’ve heard it said….. But I tell you.” Jesus is flipping the ancient script and holding His followers to a higher standard. Jesus is helping us to flee from the closest thought of sin, one of the first instances of placing a margin in our lives.
As you read these passages, seek God for areas of your life that you may need to increase your margin.
