We have already looked at the command to evangelize and the supernatural manifestations that accompany evangelistic activity. Today, we are going to look at what empowers those who engage in evangelism.
Many who claim to be Christians do not share their faith. There are numerous reasons that this is true. One reason people don’t share their faith is that they do not sense the empowerment to overcome the timidity that often grips people when it comes to sharing their faith. Acts 1:8 makes it clear that there is a power that can be possessed by any believer who will give boldness and grace to those desiring to share their faith. Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”
This power is not reserved for pastors and evangelists and prophets and teachers and apostles. It is available to every believer who desires it. Seek the Lord for this power to fulfill the command to “Go.”
