Read it: Matthew 14:13-21
Live it:
These miracle stories have been such a good reminder for my faith. These stories remind me that the same God who did those miracles can still do miracles today! A miracle is something that can only be explained by God himself. The miracle we are reading about today is the feeding of the 5,000.
I don’t recall a time in my lifetime when 5,000 people were fed, but I once was on a mission trip to Uganda. I was leading the outreach team. We were asked to pass out water at a clinic; however, we had a limited budget. I didn’t think we would be able to provide water for everyone who needed it. When I looked at the number of people we needed to give water to, our inventory did not match up. I prayed for a miracle, and God provided. Everyone was provided for, and we had water left over.
It wasn’t the feeding of the 5,000, but it is something that had an impact on me, and it had an impact on the outreach team. Most importantly, the people who were thirsty were satiated. Because they were satiated, they could get the living water God provided.
What provision do you need right now? Pray for the miracle of provision.
