Day 17 – Samson

Day 17 – Samson

Read It: Judges 16:20-31

Live It:

Samson, reputed for his great strength, had violated every aspect of the Nazarite oath. However, he still had the blessing of God on his life.

But there is a telling line when he had finally revealed the secret of his strength to Delilah. The narrative tells us that he shook himself and tried to escape but did not realize that his strength had departed.  So now, he was a captive.

He was treated harshly;  his eyes were gouged out and bound to a grinding wheel. He was a slave.  As he threshed the grain, he prayed for his strength to return.  Finally, the hour came, although to him all was lost.  But there was one more moment of victory for Samson.

Although that moment of victory cost him his life, he destroyed more of the Philistines in that final blow than he had throughout his whole life.  Reach for the victory God has for you.
