The reality of our lives is that all humanity has sinned before God and sin, being destructive, will eventually destroy our lives. This is no secret before God, but a truth that has continually separated us before Him. As humans, we have failed to honor God in all aspects of our lives. This verse found in Psalm 119:135, says “Look upon me with love, teach me your decrees”. The psalmist understood the truth in the above reference.
We need God to look upon us with love and to teach us His decrees. And all praise be to Him that He did look upon us with love. He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Savior to show us the love of the Father. Jesus also told us that the Holy Spirit will lead us to all truth. His decrees are the truth that we need to learn.
Reading this verse is not just a petition before God, but also a promise fulfilled by God. He loves us and is guiding us to His truth. Praise be to God who is able to do much more than we could ask or think.
