Day 20: Leading Through Trials
Read it: John 16:33
Live it:
One of my favorite promises of Jesus is found in John 16:33. You WILL face trials and sorrows. Not just a couple of them, but many trials and many sorrows.
But you don’t have to stop at the trial; you don’t have to stop at the sorrow.
The promise of God is that you are victorious in your trials, and you are an overcomer in your sorrows.
Life is a struggle, but the struggle makes you stronger.
People say, “God won’t give you anything you can’t handle.” But they are misquoting 1 Corinthians 10:13 which states “He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.” There will absolutely be situations, trials, sorrows, and problems that are more than you can handle in your own power.
But take heart, that is when we completely rely on Jesus Christ, which is the exact position in which we need to place ourselves to live in the victory God has already provided for us. We become stronger when we don’t rely on our own strength, but the strength of our omnipotent God.
Whatever trial you face, take heart; you will be victorious in Jesus Christ.
