Read It:
Genesis 3
Live It:
I grew up in a Christian home, a home that taught me the love of God and his plan of salvation. Growing up in a home like that is not a blessing that can ever be underestimated.
But something happened. Curiosity of what the world had to offer hit me. I left my home, left what I grew up following, and explored. That exploration brought me to a place where I was living a life far different than the one that I grew up living. I made the choice to act like everyone else, to speak like everyone else, and to think like everyone else.
What I didn’t realize was that this exploration caused me to lose my home. Not my physical home. My parents would have always given me a roof over my head. But I lost my home. I lost my place of safety. I lost my place of security. I lost my place of comfort.
What the world has to offer is nothing compared to what our home truly should be: safe, secure, comfortable. Home is where we find our salvation.
But here is the good news. Just like my story, and our narrative today, God always gives us a way home.
