Have you ever prayed and waited, then prayed and waited, then prayed and waited some more?
The first line of today’s reading is “At the time…” Roughly 400 years had passed from the last word of the Old Testament to the time of the birth of Jesus Christ. The people of Israel were praying, watching, and waiting for the Messiah, but 400 years is a very long time. Just because they had waited so long didn’t mean the miracle wouldn’t happen.
What miracle have you been praying for? What miracle have you been waiting for?
Just as we are celebrating the miracle of the birth of our savior, I believe this is going to be a season of miracles.
