Day 21- Paul (Religion to relationship)

Read it: Acts 9:1-19

Live it:

John 3:16-17 NLT
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

When I was growing up in church, we attended one specific church that had a list of requirements to become a member. The list was meant as a way of helping people live a holy life. It also meant that if you broke one of the requirements, you would be removed from membership.

One of the requirements that I vividly remember was “No mixed bathing.” What that meant was that people of the opposite gender would not go swimming at the same time. I assume it had something to do with the choice of swimwear.
The idea of helping protect the holiness of God’s people is great, but to what end? Saul was trying to protect his religion, at the expense of having a true relationship with God.

At Focus Church we say this, “If the Bible says it, we believe it. If the Bible teaches it, we are going to preach it.”

Whether it’s with our coworkers, our friends, or our families, the truth is that we can shine to everyone we meet. We can let them know that “God loves and wants a relationship with each one of us.”
