Imagine reading the story of Mary and Joseph as if you’re watching a series on TV. Depending on the series, you may have to wait a whole week for the next episode to drop.
The twist that Joseph encounters? The wife that he was supposed to be married to is now pregnant!
I don’t know what I would have done. But we get to see why God picked Joseph to be Mary‘s husband when we are told that “Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.” Matthew 1:19 NLT
Joseph showed us that marriage is more about who we are in Christ rather than what our circumstances say we are.
Joseph never compromised who he was because of circumstances that were out of his control.
We see this beautiful representation of marriage between Joseph and Mary. They were both faithful to each other, but most importantly, they were faithful to God.
