Day 13 – Jacob and Rueben
Read It: Genesis 37 & 45
Live It: The story of Joseph is a sad story full of betrayal. His brothers sold him into slavery, and his brother Ruben tried his hardest to save him, but it didn’t go as planned. Years later, Joseph meets with his brothers again and forgives them.
The most beautiful part of the story is when Joseph recognizes that everything that happened was orchestrated by God. He says do not be angry at yourselves for selling me into slavery. For it was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives. Joseph forgave his brothers, but he also recognized that God let everything happen because there was a greater purpose.
We may ask ourselves why am I going through this situation? But the truth is that God knows exactly why you’re going through what you’re going through, and he will see you through it. All we have to do is trust him.
