Day 14- Thomas (Doubt to Boldness)

Read it: John 20:24-29

Live it:

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” We, like the apostle Thomas, have all made that statement at some time in our lives. Doubting the validity of something unless we see the hard evidence of it for ourselves.

When all is well in our lives, it’s easy to believe and feel like we are living a blessed life just like Thomas must have felt while following Jesus, listening to his teachings, and observing his miracles firsthand.

And just like Thomas, when life takes a turn that we aren’t expecting, such as the loss of a job, a significant hit to our finances, serious health issues, or the death of a dream, doubt and fear can overcome us. What we need to understand is that these times of testing grow our faith and strengthen our personal testimony, preparing us for the work God has for us to accomplish.

Jesus knew that Thomas needed the direct personal experience of placing his hand in Jesus’ wounds in order to truly believe. And, when he believed, Thomas called Jesus ”My Lord and my God.” When have you had personal experiences that tested your faith and the Lord came through for you?

Boldly sharing your testimony and saying something like “I believe it because I’ve seen it in my own life. Here’s what God did for me. And if He did it for me, He will do it for you” allows you to shine.

Who can you share your testimony with today?
