Throughout the year we consistently sing songs about the goodness of God, the faithfulness of God, and the greatness of God. We sing about our response to accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. During the Christmas season, we sing songs and think about the miraculous birth of Jesus.
But long before the birth of Jesus, there were individuals writing songs looking forward to his miraculous birth. These songs are found in the Book of Psalms and are known as Messianic Psalms.
When the writer of a song had a vision of the coming Messiah and would write an entire song, a phrase in a song, or just a line in the song, that foretold something specific about Jesus. In the week ahead we will look at a few of these Psalms. In the week ahead we will worship Jesus Christ as our true Messiah as he fulfilled every single one of these prophecies.
Read Psalm 8 and the corresponding verses to see the fulfillment of these prophecies.
