Live it: I will argue that giving is not optional but necessary to our faith. Giving is a Kingdom principle, and if we are part of the Kingdom, we must act like we are part of the Kingdom. Over and over again, the scripture reminds us that it’s better to give than to receive. Giving goes down to the root of our trust. Do we really trust Him to provide, or do we trust our possessions? Today’s scripture reminds us that where God encourages us, there is also a reward for our obedience. The obvious take is that we shouldn’t give out of obligation but rather out of celebration. The One who called us has so much more than any material asset that we possess. I once heard that when we give, we’re just making room for the blessing God has in store for us. Do you need to make room for your blessing? Today’s scripture is a good reminder of the Kingdom principle we can apply to our lives today.
