Day 20

Day 20: Ephesians 6:10-24

I began my personal walk with the Lord as a young adult. Since I wasn’t raised in church, I had a lot of learning to do about trusting God in all situations, especially the bad ones. When things went wrong, I would yo-yo between faith (God’s going to take care of us) and fear (what if He doesn’t?). I was a novice at putting on God’s armor, and I awkwardly stood in it as a new Christian.

After walking with the Lord for several decades and experiencing His faithfulness in countless ways, my faith now quickly overcomes my fears when things go wrong. I have learned to stand firm in my faith and trust that God is working on my behalf. And that is exactly what the Apostle Paul tells us to do in this passage of scriptures.

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (v.11) Notice that in the space of three verses (11-14), Paul tells us to stand four times. We are to stand, take our stand, stand our ground, and stand firm.

Today, put on your full armor, and when things go wrong, remember to stand firm in your faith and trust the Lord is working on your behalf.
