Day 20 – Greetings & Instructions

Read it: Romans 16

Live it: The first sixteen verses of this chapter contain a list of people the apostle Paul wanted to greet, and they end with the admonition that the believers should greet each other. What a powerful statement about the importance of relationships!

In verse 17 Paul gives his final instruction to the Roman church. He says, “Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.”

In verse 21, the greetings are continued. Finally, Tertius, Paul’s secretary, chimes in with some greetings. This last chapter of Romans ends with a succinct statement of the purpose for writing this letter and a glorious Doxology: “All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.”
