Has God ever promised you something impossible? Maybe at first, you believe it; after all, He is God, and you heard the promise. Then, time passed, and the promise didn’t happen, and you began to doubt that you heard God at all. Well, you’re not alone; this is what happened to Sarah in Genesis 18.
Here’s what we can learn from her mistake:
Most of us don’t get what we want because we doubt our promise. We give up too easily. We give up too soon. We quit praying, sometimes, right before the miracle happens.
We live in a culture that overvalues fifteen minutes of fame and undervalues life-long faithfulness. Your promise may be a promise that outlasts your life.
Continuing to trust a promise often feels like a long and boring process, and it can be frustrating when you feel like you’ve been believing forever….. keep believing.
My word for 2024 is Breakthrough. Feel free to borrow it if you need it. If you are stuck in doubt that you heard God’s promise… If you’ve been praying for years and it seems there is no way… Take heart, a breakthrough may be coming for you!
