Read it: Judges 16
Live it:
A heartbreaking story of deception and betrayal.
Samson fell in love with a woman who was more interested in the money than him. Over and over again Delilah lied to Samson, trying to guilt him into revealing his secrets to her.
Deception of someone you loved cuts the deepest.
But the betrayal is even worse: Samson’s betrayal of God. He abandoned his faith and his commitments for a toxic relationship.
This story is a prime example of the importance of the following passage.
2 Corinthians 6:14
Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
The most important quality to find in any relationship is by asking yourself “Is this person leading me closer to Jesus, or further from Jesus?”
