Jesus says not to worry about what we’ll eat, drink, or wear. That sounds nice–but let’s be honest, it’s hard not to. We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more. A newer phone. A bigger house. Better clothes. But Jesus reminds us that life is more than stuff.
Look at the birds, He says. They don’t stress about the next meal, yet God feeds them. Look at the flowers—they don’t work or plan, but God makes them beautiful. If He takes care of them, won’t He take care of you, too?
Worrying about material things keeps our hearts tied to the wrong source. It’s like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in the bottom—it never feels like enough. But when we focus on God and His Kingdom first, everything else finds its place, and our bucket starts to overflow.
So today, take a breath. Trust that your Father knows what you need. Let go of the worry, and hold on to Him.
