Day 8: The choice of two treasures

This week is all about being generous in our love. As you read this week, I hope you reflect on the following question: Can I be generous with my love? As we look at the scripture for today, we can see that love is the most valuable thing we have to give because as the 1 Corinthians passage points out– without love, everything is worthless.
If this is true, then the way I can be the most generous is by being generous with my love. And I don’t mean feelings; I mean the act of loving others. Jesus demonstrated how to be generous with our love through the way he interacted with everyone, including the people to whom no one else would show love.
We have the choice to give our love to only those who love us, but Jesus says even unbelievers do that. Instead, he tells us to choose to be generous with our love including with our enemies. So let’s be generous with our love because they will know that we follow Jesus by the way we love! I challenge you to love someone who is hard to love today. And if you need help, pray that God will show you how to be generous with your love.
