Day 1: The choice of two treasures

Over the next 21 days we will be studying a portion of the most famous sermon ever preached. In the Book of Matthew, chapters 5 through 7, Jesus gives a lengthy discord that we call the Sermon on the Mount.
The portion of the sermon that we will be studying over the next 21 days is found in Matthew chapter 6, verses 19-34. In this specific portion of Jesus’ sermon, he preaches about the principle of generosity.
Typically, and rightfully so, we think about generosity of finances and material possessions. In week 1, that is precisely what we will study. But we will see that God is calling us to a life of generosity in more than just our finances. He is calling us to be generous with our love and with our faith.
I am praying that over the next 21 days you hear the Word of God. Over the next 21 days I want to challenge you to examine your heart and ask yourself with this question “CAN I CHOOSE TO BE GENEROUS?”
