Proverbs 8

“… I hate pride, and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech…” (Proverbs 8:13)
Who among us cannot agree! We are bombarded with information, surrounded by self-help “experts,” and influenced by “experts” on social media. Long gone are the days of pulling out an old dusty volume of the World Book Encyclopedia. Today, there are volumes and volumes of information at our fingertips.
Over inundated with information, but perhaps lacking in wisdom.
Proverbs Chapter 8 discusses how since the beginning of time, the Lord’s wisdom has always been present. However, the caveat is that we must search for it.
Yes, yes a self-help book here or there can be helpful, but we have the wisdom given to us from the creator of the universe! It is readily available for all of us.
This holiday season take the time to listen for wisdom from God. Listen to the sounds of wisdom that have always surrounded us. Lean in closer to hear the whispers of wisdom, and as the Proverb says, “Those who search will surely find me. I have riches and honor, as well as enduring wealth and justice. My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold, my wages better than sterling silver!” (Proverbs 8:17-19)
Who among us would not love those gifts?
