Day 13: The choice to seek God
Read it: Matthew 6:31-33 & Hebrews 10:23-25 & 1 John 3:17
Live it:
In the Matthew passage, we are instructed by Jesus to seek God’s Kingdom above everything else, even daily needs such as food, shelter, and clothing. The passage indicates that if we place the highest priority on seeking the matters of the Kingdom of God, everything else that we need will be provided.
With that in view, we can embrace the hope of eternal life that God has given us and expend our energy and resources encouraging others to embrace the same hope. In turn, they will reach out to their circle of influences with encouragement as well.
Remember what John says in 1 John 3:17, if you have the resources to help someone when he/she is in need and you don’t, you do not have the love of God within you. As you read, think about the relationship between seeking God’s kingdom and the expression of compassion
