Today’s reading is the last two parables of a series of five. In chapter 15, Jesus tells the parables of The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, and The Lost Son. Chapter 16 consists of The Parable of the Shrewd Manager and The Rich man and Lazarus.
In the first parable of chapter 16, Jesus commends planning ahead rather than just living in the moment. The second parable in this chapter speaks of eternal destiny and making preparations for that destiny..
Ask yourself: Have I made plans and taken steps to assure my eternal destiny is with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven?
