Day 18 I am a temple of the Holy Spirit

Read it: 1 Corinthians 3:16 & 1 Corinthians 6:19
Live it:

I was scrolling through social media the other day and ran across an advertisement for funny Christian-themed t-shirts. The one that caught my eye said, “I want to follow Jesus and slap people, too.” I will admit the mixed message on it made me stop and smile before I scrolled on.

Many of us can identify with those moments of frustration or anger in our Christian walks when we send mixed messages to those around us. This is not a new struggle. The Apostle Paul addressed this very topic with the early Christians living in Corinth. As both a body of believers and as individuals, their behaviors were sending mixed messages about what it meant to be a Christian–a temple of God’s Holy Spirit.

I am training to be more like Jesus, and he never sends mixed messages. So, I need to ask myself how clear are the messages I send out daily as I interact with people. Can others tell by my words, actions, and attitudes that God’s Holy Spirit lives inside of me? How about you? None of us are perfect, but as we train to be more like Jesus, our messages both as individuals and as a body of believers will become clearer.
