Read it: Philippians 3:9
Live it:
Yes, I am righteous. That sounds pretty boastful, but it is not an incorrect statement. Notice carefully what this passage says. It is not my strength, discipline, or determination that makes me righteous. Rather it is my dependence on Christ through faith that I am made righteous.
You see, Christ was perfectly righteous. Scripture informs us that He was without sin. That certainly does not describe me. I am righteous, however, because when I invited Him to be my savior and the Lord of my life, His righteousness was imputed (placed within) to me, and His righteousness made me righteous.
Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of Your righteousness.
