Day 18- Love Different: How does God love me?

Read it: John 3:16 & John 8:3-11

Live it:

God loves me so much that he sent his one and only son to die in my place, so my sins can be forgiven and I can enjoy eternal life with him. Really think about that. As a parent, I can’t imagine making the decision to sacrifice one of my children to die for your sins and mine. Jesus knew he was our only hope and chose to die for you and me.

Knowing how much God loves me, it stands to reason that If I’m going to live differently, I should love others in the same way. In today’s scriptures, Jesus does not condemn a woman caught in adultery; rather, he chooses to challenge the religious leader’s hypocrisy and calls the people to self-examine before judging and condemning others. Rather than condemning her, Jesus, the only sinless one present, tells her to go and sin no more.

I am thankful that the Holy Spirit convicts rather than condemns me when I sin. Conviction of the Holy Spirit leads to repentance and behavior change. Likewise, when I see others making mistakes, rather than judging and condemning them, the apostle Peter tells me to “… continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).”

Loving each other even when we make mistakes is how we become more like Jesus and live differently!
