Day 18 – Prodigal Son- Ps Raf
Read It: Luke 15:11-32
Live It:
The prodigal son parable is one we can always identify in others but is often difficult to see in our own lives.
How often do we choose to react like the prodigal son? We find ourselves thinking or praying “Father, I know what I want and I want it now.”
We completely disregard God’s provision and protection.
The lust of our eyes, a desire for wealth, and empty promises from others cloud our judgment from seeing and believing that God’s plan is better. There is something in our brains that has a hard time discerning that some things, no matter how “good” they may be, aren’t always things that are good for us.
The prodigal son parable gives us a warning and an encouragement. The warning is to choose to remain in God’s promises and protection even when other things tell us not to. The encouragement is that God is always patiently waiting for us. Even when we fail, he doesn’t fail.
