Moving from being a Potential Giver to an Emerging Giver to a Consistent Giver to a Tither to an Extravagant Giver.
I absolutely love this moment. Being so in awe of what God has done in your life that you are willing to bring the most valuable treasure you have, freely bringing your gift before God and feeling honored to do so.
Other people might call this a sacrificial gift, and it can absolutely be a sacrifice, but it doesn’t feel like a sacrifice. This is pure joy. The joy of giving more than you have ever given. The joy of knowing that God has moved on your heart, and you are responding to what he is asking you to do.
I remember the first time I saved up for a specific offering. I knew that God had asked me to give a certain amount. I didn’t have that much, so I saved, and saved, and saved. And the joy that filled my heart to know the hard work it took to bring that offering was nothing compared to the work that Jesus did for me on the Cross of Calvary.
Ps Jenni and I can tell you– the more extravagant we are in our giving, the more extravagant God is in his blessings in our lives.
We don’t give just to get from our God. But our God is so good that his blessings are new every single day.
I hope you can find the joy of being an extravagant giver, the way we have.
