Day 3

Read It: John 3

Live It:

Pastor Darren, our lead pastor, once said to me, “The level of your leadership will depend on the amount of suffering you are willing to endure.” In my translation, I see it like this: the moments you are willing to step out of your comfort zone are the moments that will teach you the most.

In life as Christians, we are to live differently, for God has set us apart. We are the hands and feet of Christ, always on-mission and ready to live passionately for Him.

I love the Bible story that shares the story of Nicodemus in John chapter 3. Nicodemus stepped out of his comfort zone and went to meet the Savior. As this story unfolds, we get a pivotal statement about our faith in verse 16: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Our uncomfortable moments will lead us to discover God’s grace in depths we would have never been able to discover before. Nicodemus went on believing in the One who can save us. And even though the Bible doesn’t go into depth about Nicodemus’ life, it does make mention of him towards the end of the Gospel. He was key in securing the body and burial site of our Lord and Savior. A burial site that screamed out the victory– for He has risen!

We are to train to be like Jesus. Let’s not look at uncomfortable situations as tedious but as a way to learn from God and become who he wants us to be.
