Day 4 – Moses and His Anger
Read It: Numbers 20:7-13, Deuteronomy 34:1-7
Live It:
Wow, what a journey Moses takes in our reading today. God gave Moses specific instructions, instructions that he chose not to follow. Due to this, his consequence was that he would not be the one to lead his people into the promised land. Sound like a hopeless situation? However, our reading ends with Moses getting to see the entire land that his people will inherit.
We all have choices to make in life, and those choices have consequences. Those consequences can be heartbreaking and painful, and they can lead us to hopelessness, especially if we put all of our focus on the pain. However, instead of putting all of our focus on the pain, we can choose to savor the good in our lives.
Yes, Moses still had to face the consequence of not being the person to lead his people to the promised land. However, he got to see the entirety of the promised land. He also got to live 120 years, his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever at 120! Sounds like he had a lot to savor. I suspect that you also have a lot to savor in your life, but where are you putting your focus?
