Day 4: The choice of worry
Read it: Matthew 6:25-27 & Proverbs 4:23 & Philippians 4:11-13
Live it:
I remember worrying about planning the perfect vacation with my family. I had all the check marks marked off. I was ready to have this amazing vacation experience with my family. But when the day came, one of my kids became sick. Traveling with a sick kid is not fun at all. The perfect vacation turned into an attending-to-a-sick-kid session. The perfect vacation was a bit of a nightmare. While heading home, I heard my older kid say, “This was the best vacation ever.”
As a father of three kids, I have learned that no matter what my idea of a perfect vacation for my kids is, it might differ from what they consider a perfect vacation.
Worry in essence is a choice. We worry because we don’t know the outcome of a situation.
Sometimes, our human instincts take the lead and want to have control of a situation. Jesus reminds us of that in today’s scriptures. What are you worrying about today? God has it all under control.
