Read It : Mark 11:15-17 NLT
Live It : Take a moment and read Mark 11:15-17 before today’s devotional.
What a powerful moment. This is the moment that Jesus clears out the Temple, and we can see that Jesus isn’t playing around. He sees what is happening in the temple, a holy place, and he is disgusted. He knocks over tables and chairs, with authority.
And then he says these powerful words, “My Temple will be called a house of Prayer for all nations.”
Focus Church will be a house of prayer, for all nations. Our weekly Prayer service is a prime example of the emphasis that Focus Church places on prayer. During the regular service time, there is a portion of the service dedicated to the church praying together. Focus Church will be a house of prayer, for all nations.
But, prayer isn’t reserved just for church services. The Temple building isn’t just the house of prayer.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you at a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
When you have a personal relationship with Jesus, the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead, lives and dwells in you. Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and this temple will be a house of prayer.
Your prayers are a direct connection to God. Build your connection to God, build your relationship with God, by praying EVERY DAY.
Celebrate this Holy Monday by dedicating your life to be a house of Prayer. Have an amazing Monday…and Peace Out.
