Binge The Bible

21 Day Bible Reading Plan

September 2023 Reading Plan

Welcome to Binge the Bible. What started as one 21-day reading plan to start the year, has turned into a movement of pursuing God. Psalm 119:25 says, “I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.” At Focus Church, our hope is that every person will experience the abundant life that God has intended for us to live. And we believe that happens when we are revived by the Word of God.

Join us as we READ IT…LIVE IT.

Day 1

Day 1: Ephesians 1:2-23 We all have moments in our lives that define us. I remember my grandfather as a hard- working person who lived by a simple motto: Do what 's right and work hard. But I will also never forget when I first heard the phrase “God loves you.”...

Day 2

Day 2: Ephesians 2:1-3:21 The question of how to forgive others even when we feel they don’t deserve it is one that many struggle with. Many people have wrestled with unforgiveness, including me. It is so hard to forgive. It is in our nature to hold onto things, which...

Day 3

Day 3: Ephesians 4:1-16 The short answer to the question posed for today’s reading is “keep your focus on Christ.” It goes without saying that there is great division in today’s world. There is political division between supporters of the two major political parties...

Day 4

Day 4: Ephesians 4:17-5:21 I have discovered the joy of working out. There are endorphins that come from pushing yourself farther than you thought you could, lifting that weight you never thought possible. Even doing more burpees than you think God designed you to do...

Day 5

Day 5: Ephesians 5:22-6:9  At first glance this passage can be difficult to internalize. We see words like “submit, love, obey, serve,” and we can get a little riled up. Our current culture pushes against these ideas. In all honesty, we can be influenced by our...

Day 6

Day 6: Ephesians 6:10-24  Reading this gives me the confidence I need to face anything. I didn’t always have this confidence. When I was in high school, I was on the wrestling team. I was a starter on the varsity team- not because I had any skill but because I was the...

Day 7

Day 7: Psalms 119:11 Memorization and Meditation Ephesians 1:3 “How can a young person stay pure? By obeying Your word. I have tried hard to find You— don’t let me wander from Your commands. I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm...

Day 8

Day 8: Ephesians 1:2-23 “To the praise of his glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves, in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom...

Day 9

Day 9: Ephesians 2:1-3:21 When I was in elementary school, we got to take a field trip to the science center. I remember my favorite part was the 3D movie we got to watch. It was about all things space. I became lost in the questions about the planets and the moons....

Day 10

Day 10: Ephesians 4:1-16 I used to work a few weeks every year in Orange County, California. The first time I went there, my boss warned me about the Santa Ana winds. He told me that they are strong, warm, dry gusts of air that can exacerbate wildfires. One day when I...

Day 11

Day 11: Ephesians 4:17-5:21 After reading that, someone might say, “Wow, that was a hard passage. How can I ever live that out in my own life?” Yes, today’s passage is one of those difficult passages. This passage contains a list of things we are not to do any more....

Day 12

Day 12: Ephesians 5:22-6:9 This section of Ephesians starts off with a controversial statement - at least to our current cultural climate. It states, “Wives, submit to your husbands…” Whew, I’m feeling a little prickly just writing that statement, but I (as a wife)...

Day 13

Day 13: Ephesians 6:10-24 In a battle things will go wrong, but those who are prepared will succeed. Ephesians 6:12: “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this...

Day 14

Day 14: Psalms 119:11 Memorization and Meditation Ephesians 2:8-9 The second verse that we are memorizing is Ephesians 2:8-9. This verse explains that we are saved by Grace through faith and there is nothing we could have done to earn it. God has given us this...

Day 15

Day 15: Ephesians 1:2-23 In today’s world, there are a lot of voices that surround us. A lot of people claim that they have the truth. People say “do this in order to be happy,” or “do this in order to feel loved.” Everyone is looking for the truth. In today’s...

Day 16

Day 16: Ephesians 2:1-3:21 Forgiveness is one of the most difficult Christian disciplines. It goes without saying that someone has hurt you at one time or another. Sometimes those hurts run deep. In Matthew 6, where Jesus gave the disciples the MODEL PRAYER, the one...

Day 17

Day 17: Ephesians 4:1-16 It seems that nowadays you have to choose a side. You are either for something or against it. It seems our country has become more divided than ever. Division is a weapon that the enemy uses, and he likes to use it everywhere he can. There is...

Day 18

Day 18: Ephesians 4:17-5:21 As you read today’s passage, I would like to encourage you to highlight one specific verse: Ephesians 5:10. It reads, “Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” Your choices matter. Your thoughts matter. So carefully determine what...

Day 19

Day 19: Ephesians 5:22-6:9 Putting together furniture or a project with my husband is stressful. I am the teammate who wants to follow the instructions step by step. I have all pieces and parts accounted for and lined up perfectly. He, on the other hand, likes to...

Day 20

Day 20: Ephesians 6:10-24 I began my personal walk with the Lord as a young adult. Since I wasn’t raised in church, I had a lot of learning to do about trusting God in all situations, especially the bad ones. When things went wrong, I would yo-yo between faith (God’s...

Day 21

Day 21: Psalms 119:11 Memorization and Meditation Ephesians 6:10-12 We live in a world with a daily struggle. We live in a world with a daily fight. But our God does not leave us alone in this struggle; instead, He equips us, encourages us, and strengthens us....
